Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company: Connectivity Intern (Washington, D.C.)

OVERVIEW

The Connectivity Intern will work closely with Woolly Mammoth’s nationally acclaimed Connectivity department to plan and implement the many aspects of our work: audience development, audience engagement, community engagement and learning. In particular, the intern will participate in brainstorming and planning meetings, conduct research on community events and organizations, assist with designing and installing Woolly’s interactive lobby experiences, and assist with logistics for in-person events. The Intern will assist with producing planned Connectivity programming for the upcoming 25-26 season. The intern will also support the day-to-day functioning of the department as needed. Examples of projects are included below.

The position will report to Kristen Jackson (Associate Artistic Director & Director of New Work) and Emily Lathrop (Associate Director of Connectivity).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with producing Connectivity core partner programming, such as Spit Dat monthly open mic and Arts and Social Justice Fellowship showcase.

  • Assist with producing special events in connection to mainstage shows

  • Attend department and season planning meetings

  • Assist with producing art and vendor markets

  • Assist with community and audience outreach

  • Assist with research around upcoming production

  • Assist with collecting, entering and analyzing survey data for Connectivity programs

  • Work cross-departmentally to Connectivity programming

  • Special Project- Develop and lead audience design and lobby experience curation for the fall opener

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Commit to Woolly’s policy of anti-racism and radical inclusivity. This includes participating in anti-bias/anti-harassment training, familiarizing yourself with the policies in the employee handbook, using Woolly’s Liberation Library as an educational resource, engaging in EDI work at Woolly, and furthering your own independent journey with anti-racism.

COMPENSATION

  • $22.50 per hour

INTERNS WILL WORK 28 HOURS PER WEEK AND ATTEND A MANDATORY OFFSITE PROGRAM DAY ONE DAY PER WEEK WITH THEIR COHORT.

  • Internship Period: June 5 – August 6

  • Total Weeks: 9 weeks

  • Work Hours per Week: 28

  • Total Hours: 252

  • Workdays: 4 days per week onsite (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays)

  • Work hours will be 10:00-6:00

PROGRAM DAY:

  • On Wednesdays, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.

  • These hours are separate from the internship hours.
