Background
Developing Artists challenges teens to combine rigorous performing arts training with ensemble-based philosophy to create original work that inspires social change. By creating a space where young voices are heard and celebrated, we aim to develop the next generation of creative changemakers.
At Developing Artists, performing arts converges to include acting, singing, spoken word, rap, poetry, music, and dance – all contributing to the creation of new collaborative works. Since 2018, all classes have been entirely free, ensuring accessibility and serving students who may have been traditionally overlooked. The program's work emphasizes the powerful connection between artistic expression and activism, stemming from a dedication to artistic excellence and a persistent effort to address issues of inclusion and equity.

Overview
This internship is a hands-on opportunity for a motivated and creative student to be part of an arts education nonprofit that’s using the performing arts to change the world.
We seek two creative, motivated, and mission-aligned part-time Marketing & Communications Interns to support our year-round promotional efforts. Interns will work closely with Developing Artists staff on the development and execution of communication strategies for our 2024–2025 programming season.
This process includes crafting email templates, designing and scheduling social media posts, making website updates, and creating donor outreach content. Interns will also coordinate marketing materials for performances, workshops, and community events. They’ll be especially focused on our August program, MAKE ART WITH. This internship is a chance to apply your skills in a meaningful way. By the end of the summer, you’ll leave with a full portfolio of real-world marketing work — and know that your words helped uplift young artists.
